Jamie Newhall is a senior multimedia producer at The University of Akron. His work includes video production and photography, skills he most enjoys using to create documentaries.

Since childhood, Jamie has tinkered and experimented with electronics.  He is particularly fond of audio electronics and building speakers. He is also an avid woodworker and hobbyist who delights in solving technical problems. 

His keen interest in solving technical problems led to his recent work to recreate a device to play wire recordings. The project generated media interest both locally and globally. Jamie is a recipient of the 2017 Society of Ohio Archivists Merit Award for his work on the device.
